The picture above: We (John - KD9BYW and Laura - KD9EID) met up with JC at the LaPorte County Cabin Fever Hamfest on February 22, 2020, which is run by the LaPorte County Amateur Radio Club.

The picture below: The fantastic home-brewed display scale model of an HF beam antenna - complete with rotor, created by JC. It was very pleasant to sit and watch the chasing lights. A very cool accessory for any ham shack.

This picture was taken unfortunately at Rich KA9GQF’s wake in 2020. It was the first time this many local Saturday night ham net personalities got together for a photo op. Net controllers from the left are KB9DSQ - Steve, N9QIY sk - Bruce, KB9AJM - Tom, KD9EID - Laura, and KD9BYW - John.

Long-time Nightcrawler, and new member Mike (KC9RDS - Billings, MT) - “We’re happy to welcome you to the club Mike.” Mike is one of the Nightcrawler net’s Soldiers of Kindness.

Another favorite Nightcrawler, Brandon KD7UUW, is from Chattaroy, WA. He’s enjoyed the Nightcrawler’s Net since day one. He enjoyed it so much, he is now one of our net controllers. Not many Chicago nets can boast having a net controller from Washington. Thanks Brandon, you’re the best.
