From Laura’s stuff, June 28th: 1953 - Workers assembled the first Corvette in Flint, Michigan. On this day, workers at a Chevrolet plant in Flint, Michigan, assembled the first Corvette, a two-seater sports car that would become an American icon. The first completed production car rolled off the assembly line two days later, one of just 300 Corvettes made that year.
QFL (question for Laura): Was wondering if any of those original 300, 1953 corvettes were still around.
AFL (answer from Laura): New Research Shows the First 1953 Chevrolet Corvette Wasn't Actually Destroyed | The Online Automotive Marketplace | Hemmings (a bit of a read, but a great story)
The Cicada Madness 2024 Contest Winner is…
— This contest was not as easy as we first thought but it was fun. We had dates that no one chose, we had gaps in the calendar,… just way too many variables we never thought of when we started this contest. But we have a winner folks. We finally got it down to two dates (one from our northern listening group - May 25th, and one from our southern listening group - May 29th). During this time period, there were only two people who chose dates - Kevin, W2LST and Laura, KD9EID. We used a random, online spinner and the winner is… Kevin, W2LST. Congratulations Kevin, we hope you enjoy the prize package being sent out to you. And a great big thank you to all involved in the contest. You all rock!!
— All decisions of Club management and the Nightcrawler Net Controllers are final.

You could also try being crafty with your cicadas. Here, someone got crafty with the cicada’s empty shells. (They may have been a ham operator. Look at all that glue. Must be using the ham code, the bigger the glob the better the job? Hmmm.) Looks like date night. Pretty crafty if you ask me. (I wonder if they will share their spaghetti?)
